An exclusive look at Daisy Boman's works at Shenton Way MRT

We are excited to present our latest public installation by Belgian artist Daisy Boman. Her larger-than-life scultpures, lovingly nicknamed "Bo-men", are now walking along the exit of the newly-opened Shenton Way MRT station, part of the Thompson-East Coast Line.
The triptych of sculptures, captured in the middle of dynamic motion, echo the daily commute of workers to and from the Central Business District. This whimsical parallel between art and life is a way to bring people together, in busy moments that may not always feel like social situations. These walking 'Bo-men' remind us of our shared humanity and aim to create shared moments between commuters.
The sculptures were generously donated by port and supply chain group PSA International under the Gift of Art programme. We are thankful to them for their support of Daisy Boman and for the opportunity they offer all Singaporeans to enjoy art in public spaces.
The programme allows organisations and individuals to donate works of art or sponsor art pieces, which can be commissioned by donors, for display at the public areas of MRT stations.
Transport Minister S. Iswaran, who unveiled the sculptures outside Shenton Way MRT station on Tuesday, said: “This is another part of the effort to enliven our MRT stations, the experience of the daily commute and to bring the community – whether they are corporations, individuals or community organisations – into our MRT stations for them to take greater ownership.”Currently, there are about 400 art pieces in more than 92 MRT stations", he added.
