Karte Wardaya was a finalist in the Philip Morris Art Award in 1995 and 2001. His artworks are based on his daily self-reflections that filter into his subconscious. He draws his inspiration from his environment and the things that happen around him. Realising that plurality is constantly occurring around him, he integrates these multiple, unique realities with their varying ideas into his works. His artworks visualise the central subject of interest more prominently than the diverse range of interpretations and subtexts they contain. Without a literal explanation, viewers are left to ponder on how every man may be similar but different in essence and how this difference can be used to synergise with its surroundings.
